So it has been announced that Tony Stewart will be !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! race this weekend. I've gotta say that I have mixed feelings about this.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Let me make one thing EXTREMELY CLEAR: I don't think Stewart tried to kill anyone at any time. I do think, however, that he shouldn't race until the investigation into Kevin Ward Jr's death is complete. Why? Very simple: if he is involved in any kind of race-related incident that shows him as an aggressor that endangered someone's life, it could sway the investigators and/or grand jury.
There are plenty of arguments for/against him racing. I'm just stating the legal reason that he should stay out of the event. I've made this statement before and have been accused of deciding he's guilty. I'm not. I don't think this is necessarily the smartest thing to do right now, though.
Thoughts?

I kind of agree. Everything that I've read about him (pre-incident) has been that he loves racing so much that he does it as much as he can. The itch is there and it's driving him crazy by not scratching it.
That being said, it would be awful to do anything that would sway anyone's decisions.

Yup. I'm sure he loves his job, loves racing, and loves being out on the track scrapping it out. However, my opinion is that he should get his kicks on the XBOX until the final announcement from law enforcement is made.
Who knows? Maybe he got a call and was told that he is in the clear?

I was ready to get the torch and pitchfork but you make a really good argument.

That's why I made a really good argument. I dislike torches and pitchforks.

Well, as long as no one is walking around on the track, it should be fine.

ANY aggressive driving would put him at risk.

I may be putting the whole thing in an overly simple light, I don't like Tony Stewart any more than any other driver, but I still believe that if Ward had waited in his car like a normal driver and waited until after the race to settle his complaints, he would still be above ground now. Much like the show, the race must go on.

I agree completely that if he had stayed in his car, he would be alive right now. However, the current criminal investigation might show that Tony contributed to his death enough to warrant charges. It's not something I agree with either, however Mr. Stewart should be extremely careful right now.

I think that it is understood that agressivness is part of racing, so as long as he doesn't do anything overtly...homicidal and just has a clean race, it should be fine.
